It's a long hard road to follow till the end of your time Not to love is meant for sorrow not love is such a crime.
Can you find someone to love forever? Find someone to love just for the pride Hang on close for the ride Hang on jive
Take a trip above all highs Just reach back and close your eyes The price you pay is a one fare Trust your soul completely bare Ease your mind and all that's held inside you
Find someone to love just for the pride Hang on close for the ride Hang on Jive...
And I thought it was "find someone to love just for tonight" but I could definitely be wrong. When it comes to lyrics I'm usually hopeless.
I remember years ago before the internet when the band I played in at the time used to buy a 45 and work out the chords and the lead break etc. Meanwhile we'd play it and pause it over and over to decipher the lyrics. Years later I found some of those lyric sheets and I shiver with embarrassment at some of the way out interpretations. I wish I'd saved them to share cos' some of them were so far out they were hysterical.
YEAH THE FIRST TIME THAT GIL SAYS "JUST FOR"...IT SOUNDS LIKE NIGHT...THEN THE 2ND TIME SOUNDS LIKE PRIDE OR BRIDE...THEN HANG CLOSE FOR THE RIDE SOUNDS LIKE HANG ON CLOSE FOR THE RIGHT..HOPEFULLY GIL CAN CLEAR THIS UP FOR US
Guys, There are too many "s'' consonents in that stanza for it to be the words
"Pride" "bride" "right", etc. The words in question, begin with the letters "s".
If you use the "Play Speed Settings" on your Windows Media Player, you can slow the song down without interferring with the pitch.
"Hang on love/long,"S.....","S....." hang on jive" I am usually good at deciphering , but even this one has me baffled, due to the words being run together.
