I understand RE turned down a visit on ST...that would have been huge;how many white groups would have been honored 4 the invite?I get the impression not only self-destructive....but a lot of bad decisions;

Elton John and David Bowie both graced the stage of Soul Train but other than that, I know of no one else

Could have sworn I saw Rare Earth on Soul Train the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend 1978 promoting the Band Together LP'

I'm amost positive I did. The show came on at 11:00 AM and the only played selections from Band Together.

If it wasn't Soul Train than it was on Dick Clark's show but somehow Soul Train sticks in my mind.                   Jocko

I last talked to him via phone in February. He hadn't been around as he thought the forum was gone. He was relieved and happy to know the forum was still here.

I will give him a ring and see what he is up to.

Yes it's been a long time. Too long in my opinion. Had some serious health related issues over the past five to six year and I still have some concerns but I'm trying to keep a positive attitude.

It's nice to be back among friends and I hope everyone here is doing well. It broke my heart to hear about Pete's loss and I'll be keeping him and his family in my daily prayers.

Even though I've recently spoken to Mike I know he too has recently experienced tragic loss in his life so lets please keep him too in our thoughts and prayers.

And Richard I hope you're doing well my old friend. Even though some of us are separated by continents our friendships and common goals keep us much closer.

The current membership of Rare Earth is still out there entertaining their fans so it's been a forty to fifty year run for some of them. Hope both Gil, Ray and the rest of the guys are all doing well.

I know Pete's still out there working hard on his unplugged project and I'd love to get to see him perform one of these days. It's been way too long since my last CRAS show. I'd really love to catch one of Pete's celebrate shows but that's a real long shot.

They would have Jammed out at soul train but it was the mafia made them not to show up because they hate the blacks.

FIRST OF ALL THE ABOVE COMMENT IS INSANE, AND THE REASON WE DIDN'T DO SOUL TRAIN IS BECAUSE WE WERE ALREADY CONTRACTED AND BOOKED ON A TOUR. COME ON GUYS....WE PLAYED THE APOLLO THEATER IN N.Y.C. FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. HOW MANY WHITE ACTS PLAYED THERE? AND TO A HIGHLY RECEPTIVE CROWD TOO.

RAY
