I finally saw Rare Earth play last night at the Livonia Spree. Caught up with Gil before the show to ask about Mark. Sounds like everyone appreciated his talent. Mark and I knew each other when we lived in an apartment complex in Redford. This was 1954-55. I was a year older. I remember a few times going over to his place for him to come out and play and his mother would say he can't because he was practicing the piano. When my family moved to Livonia in late '55 I lost contact until a few years later. I think we got reconnected when I recognized his mom at Montgomery Wards in Wonderland shopping center and she told me where they lived which was about 3 miles away. The last time I saw him he was playing solo at a bar in Farmington. I believe this was about 1974-5. I felt proud for him when I saw him on Don Kirshner's Rock Concert with Rare Earth. here was my childhood buddy up on the big stage. Miss you Mark.
