The following is cut and pasted from Wikipedia, which has a superb timeline of the many line-ups. Whoever put that information together deserves rich praise. It is well worth visiting.
On Wikipedia it was pretty much me. I wrote almost all the article, with a few contribs from people along the way..mostly the info about the sampling of their songs. I'd say mostly all the stuff about the lineup changes was me with info I got from asking questions to the various people on this board..including Ray, Gil, Pete, etc.....
This Rare Earth Wikipedia entry I'm pretty proud of...along with other similar ones I've written on there about the James Gang, Orleans, Foreigner, Firefall and others. And I'm lucky the site owners and other posters have more or less left it alone. Other subjects can be a tough row to hoe...You might make a minor change that you know is correct, only to have some anal retentive person, who watches the page like a hawk, come and undo it.....And the owners of the site are a bit funny about how they want things done. They're constantly asking you to footnote practically EVERY SENTENCE of info you write...which is a bit ridiculous...Anyone who's ever learned about writing papers in school knows only DIRECT QUOTES are footnoted. Other info sources are covered at the end in a thing called a BIBLIOGRAPHY. And they seem to think titles of chapters are not capitalized either...Strange rules.....
