I always thought Rivera was a great name and a touch classy. Couldn't be easier to remember or spell either. Or at least you'd think so. I remember someone once referring to you as Pete Riviera in a review though. Sloppy journalism ;)
Get Ready was the first and biggesthit for the band, Born To Wander is Peter's favorite but I Just Want To Celebrate is the one that sticks out for me. Of the 5 big hits Rare Earth had, it's my favorite.
Get Ready can also be associate with Smokey Robinson and other Motown acts. Celebrate is exclusivly Rare Earth. The song has only gotten better with age.

Well said Stuart. I Just Want To Celebrate is a Rare Earth song from start to finish. Messrs Zesses and Fekaris wrote it but it's a product of Peter, Gil, John, Eddie, Ray and Mark. And let's not forget Tom Baird's production.
It sums up my outlook on life. I don't dwell on the negative things. Negativity upsets me. I went through a rough patch in my life 12 years ago and I vowed never again to met myself THAT down. I try to focus on the positive, even when bad things happen. After all, everything happens for a reason. Life gives ya lemmons, make some lemondade. I'm grateful I wake up each day.

In Peter's book, he says that Mark was frustrated about not "hearing" a part for the song and walked out. Then Tom came out and played with the guys and Mark overdubbed an organ part later.
But hey, I wasn't there. Peter, Ray and Gil would know for sure
