The radio station in the U.K. with the highest audience figures is BBC Radio 2 and their mid morning presenter Ken Bruce (9.30-12) has a quiz at 10.30 called Pop Master where 2 listeners come on air and answer 10 questions each on music, and today the 2nd contestant got played about 10 seconds of Get Ready was told it was Rare Earth, but the contestant had to name the group that had the original hit with the song.
So if anybody wants to have a listen you can go onto the BBC Radio 2 site and hear it on their "listen again" facility, you get 7 days to listen before its replaced with next Mondays show.. This has to be the 1st time I have ever heard R.E. on this particular show, even though it was only a brief few seconds lol.
I'm amazed. I wish I'd heard that. What a pity it didn't happen last Tuesday or Wednesday when work was closed due to snow. I listened to the show those two days.
Over the last couple of years my scores have slipped as I'm ok on the old stuff but hopeless on anything after 1990.
Sorry for not replying. I didn't see your post. I was listening to Pop Master on Friday and did quite well on the first contestant's questions but terribly on the second contestant's. If I ever entered you can bet your bottom dollar I'd get slaughtered.
How do you get on with the 3 in 10? I always find that hard, even if I know the artist. Ten seconds goes amazingly fast.
Love the idea of you setting a Rare Earth quiz. Why not compile one and send it out by PM to anyone who wants to have a go. We won't see anyone elses answers that way. Let's see who knows what. I think Mike, Steve and the Termite would give anyone a run for their money. It would be funny if Peter and Ray entered and we beat them :)
