Happy Days are here at last!
This is the official announcement:
Rare Earth's new cd entitled A BRAND NEW WORLD is released and now available!

I am the webmaster for RareEarth.com and don't see any reason how you could get a list of different acts.  Could you let me know which bands/songs you are seing in the list.  I would like to get this resolved.

I have my webmaster checking this problem out. It works fine on my computer and also on some other friends computers so it's really a mystery whats happening. Would you all do me a favor and click on the digstation tab and listen there and tell me if that works for you.

Ok, sorry the confusion, I am not sure why it did that.  It seemed to be hit or miss.  I have corrected the Music Player and you should only see RareEarth songs now.

You will need to refresh the page for the change to take effect.

This problem now seems to be cleared up as BRAND NEW WORLD tracks are now showing in the listen now facility. Earlier on it was as all the guys were saying "not Rare Earth".. lol.

O.K., For those of you who are having problems. Try this for me..

Go To  http://www.rareearth.com/default.asp   and  RIGHT CLICK  on the "Listen Now" Tab under the album Art.. Open it in a new window. The address in your address bar should be,

http://www.rareearth.com/MusicPlayer/MusicPlayer.htm

Let us know if it's something different than this address. It sounds like you guys across the pond are being directed to the wrong address??

How come you say it's on CD BABY?  They know nothin about it so i am puzzled as I really want to hear the Cd and I dont want to download it. I prefer a factory pressed cd

The reply I got from CDBaby said "Our account for that album is being finalized, so it should be done soon. Please keep checking in".

The person who replied  also said "Whoa cool I love Rare Earth" lol

Yeah,,

The Record has to be filtered through Home Land Security , then the French Government has to do the "Wine Spill Test" on the CD cover to ensure it can take a wine spill.. Then, The Brit's need to get it By Sir Paul and Sir George!! Man, this takes forever!!.. weirdfaceweirdface

O.K., By now, you've all figured out that I am just a 16 year old smart ass who always has some zinger to tell.. Just ask the Band.. Every now and then they give me that--"will you just shut up for a second?"--Look.idea

On reflection when hearing about A Brand New World finally being issued,  cynical thoughts passed through my mind. 

First off all the band members were telling us how "great" this CD would be and that we would love it and of course that's natural for them to come up with that description. 

I was dissapointed by the previous release being a covers album, I could not see any point to it so that clouded my opinions about "A Brand New World"

I have now played the cd several times and I have come to this conclusion.

BRILLIANT!!!!!! The opening track "The Love You Save" kicks off the album in fine style and after that it just gets better with the flow.  The hair on the back of my neck stood up on hearing "Give Me Shelter"  I really can say honestly that every track was worth playing! Great production from  Ivan and top playing from all are kept in line with the trademark brilliance of Gil's sax.

Rare Earth have come up with something special here not least with the fact that the writing combination of Ivan and Floyd Stokes have injected new life in to the band with a quality I had not imagined. To top it all Ivan and Floyd take on the task of lead vocalist between them.

Ivan+Gil, I wish you and the guys the best of luck with the new release. Any word on where one can purchase a hard copy of Brand New World? I've been checking the official Rare Earth website plus CD-Baby on a daily basis but all that seems to be available is a downloadable version on the band's website.
In the past there used to be a store section on the band's website where one could purchase video's and CD's but the store link is no longer there. Any help in locating a hard copy of the new CD would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jocko D

I can only echo what John said about ABNW, it is a truly great album, the production is faultless,all the songs are strong, great vocals, in fact great everything. I have listened to the album many times now, do I have have a fave track?, no I love them ALL equally.
Well done guys, you have made a 52 year old Rare Earth fan very happy.

Gil, Thank you for the updated info on CD-Baby. I'll be ordering my copy of "A Brand New World" as soon as they have it in stock.
For the time being I've been listening to the snippets and although all the tracks sound really good this is just a tease. I'm really looking forward to hearing the entire CD.
Can anyone tell me who's singing lead on the track "Nothings Really Changed". John said something about Ivan and Jr. sharing lead vocal duties so I'm wondering if I'm hearing Ivan singing lead on this track. Thanks, Jocko D

Ivan, I had a feeling that it was you singing lead on that track.  Is that you again singing lead on "Day Dreamer".
Not only are you an excellent guitarist it seems you're also a very gifted singer with a smooth and soulful style singing voice.
I have a strange feeling that once I've listened to the entire CD and checked the credits I'm going to have to add gifted songwriter to your resume.
It's been quite some time since Rare Earth has had three band members capable of singing lead. Jocko D

Hang on guys they will have copies by noon tomorrow. Can you believe Disc Makers only sent CDBaby 5 copies to start and it took them 2 weeks after manufacture to get it up. I e-mailed them and told them this is unaceptable and pretty ignorant to think Rare Earth would not sell 4 CD's. Anyway i have this "Out Of Stock" problem taken care of for good. I hope.

Received my copy of "Brand New World" from CD-Baby. This CD has been a long time coming but was definitely worth the wait. 
With this new release the current line up has taken Rare Earth over the threshold and into the 21st Century.   
If you liked the version of "Papa Was A Rolling Stone' on the band's 2005 CD release-Just wait until you hear the version on this CD. Outstanding is one word to describe it.  
As for the remainder of the tracks on this new release. Each and every song is a true rocker and a pleasure to listen to.
I can honestly say there is not one song I dislike on this CD. 
Congrats to all the members for a job well done.

AMC radio in Canada have now played virtually every track from A Brand New World and are more than Rare Earth friendly.  If anyone wants to listen to the broadcasts you will find the station available through the internet on Shoutcast or Destiny player. I've finally gotten around to putting my 2 cents in regarding A Brand New World.  It is fantastic.  On first listen, I wasn't sure.  The songs sounded too forced to me and I wasn't sure if I liked the production.  I put it away for a while and decided I would give it another try later.  I took it to the beach with me and listened to it there and then I was hooked.  Can't stop listening now!!  Gil, I love the sax throughout the whole album.  It really defines the album.  JR is a wonderful vocalist.  It's so great to hear him singing new songs.  I can appreciate his talent more now.

Kudos to the whole band for great playing and singing (that means you too Ivan, but remember what the old man says....)

Can't wait for the next one.

HELP! Can anyone tell me if the new album is available in any stores in CANADA or the state of MAINE, I'm from NEW BRUNSWICK.I checked out CD BABY but they tell me because of customs to use UPS worldwide. If I'm reading the chart right it would cost me $55.00 shipping.I know it's a good album but really, I think that's a bit much.

I just had to say the other day I was cruising and decided to play "A Brand New World" on my hard drive. Hadn't given a listen in a while, not counting "Papa.." and rocked as I rolled. It was actually even warm enough to put the windows down, kick-ass.
