We have had cd's now for many years, in fact we are into its third decade, so why has there been no ouput regarding Rare Earth reissues. Straight releases of lps such as "Get Ready".."Ecology".."In Concert" were put out for only a short time before being deleted, "Ma" has had a longer shelf life but that doesnot answer the question......WHY. Where are the others, where is the unissued material. Ok the record company have put out a few best of's.....big deal, after so many best of cd's we can only repeat what our ears have heard. The record company explain that a "Best Of" will sell more than a "One World".......how would they know if its never been issued?????? They could issue the entire back catalouge with bonus tracks if they had a different attitude and maybe give the fans something worth buying for the first time in many years. Its a shame in a way that Rare Earth are part of the Motown group, another label would have sorted it out years ago.
I agree 100% with John about the re issues of Rare Earths back catalogue on CD,it makes nor sense that apart from the best ofs all of their Motown albums remain un available on cd.Perhaps the suits at Motown/Universal might like to take a look on ebay and see the silly money that the In Concert cd goes for, why the crazy price because its an in demand item and no longer available so come on Motown lets have a big re think on your policy regarding the bands catalogue. And while your at it check the vaults for all the unreleased tracks that could be mixed down and issued as bonus tracks.
Come on I am hunting for Rare Earth Live In Concert. Do Motown really understand how big the market for this album. I have search every corner in the world to get this album. I still got this album in cassette but the tape life is almost gone. When ever CD of Rare Earth is on the shelf it seems they are gone very fast. Don't keep us rare earth fan disappointed . Reissue Rare Earth Live in Concert please.
I agree with the rest of the Rare Earth fans-we want In Concert released on CD, along with the rest of their collection. I saw one copy on Amazon last year for about $170 and about crapped my drawers, thought I'd try and catch 'em in concert in Kennewick or Sparks this year for Hot August nights but missed out on both chances-thought I'd find a copy there. SURE WISH MOTOWN would pull their heads out of their @$$es and quit putting out so much crap & do us all a BIG (brother) favor. There is so much (c)rap being released these days and you can't even sing along or dance to it! I'm with you on the petition, just let me know. bobk@stioptronics.com. Bob Kelly, I live east of Seattle in Sammamish. ROCK ON, RARE EARTH!
I have been searching for Rare Earth CD's all over the world for over 10 years. The only meaningful CD I have been able to find is the 20th Century Collection which fortunately features the live extended version of Get Ready. I am quite surprised that we not have seen re-issues of Rare Earth CD's considering there have been re-issues of so many oldies. Why can't Mowtown do us all a favour and give us what we want. I agree with John. Isn't there some way/any way we can can petition the record company to release the old Rare Earth albums. I have been looking for albums like Willie Remembers for over 10 years.
Asad-I believe the live extended version of Get ready you are reffering to on that cd is not what you think it is. It is actually the full lenth studio version(20 minutes or so)from the original Get Ready LP which had some audience cheering dubbed in by Motown engineers. The full live extended version of Get Ready(23 minutes plus)is on the Rare Earth In Concert CD which of course has been out of print for years. And yes, count me in on as another dis-grunted fan who would like to see more of the back catalog released by Motown in original LP format. JockoD
