I was just looking at the Feb 1990 edition of Detroit City Limits, and came across the sentence "It is thought that they [the Sunliners] provided Golden World's backing musicians on many sessions". Is this dealt with in any detail in Ralph Terrana's book which I have not been able to read yet?
I PLAYED ON MANY SESSIONS AT GOLDEN WORLD,STARTING IN 1965 WITH "COOL JERK". THAT MIGHT BE WHERE THE RUMOR CAME FROM.THE OTHER MUSICIANS WERE ALMOST ALL FUNK BROTHERS.
MY CAREER AS A SESSION MUSICIAN ENDED IN 1971 WHEN I JOINED RARE EARTH.

One door closed and another one opened. I was already a Rare Earth fan but Ray, I think most people will agree, your contribution to Rare Earth has been nothing short of awesome! I hope you have no regrets. From your posts on the forum I'm pretty sure thats the case.
M. Grossman, The Sunliners were not house session musicians for Golden World. I've heard this rumor before. The Sunliners were under contract as artists to the label and nothing more.
