Hi MDF
re "RARE EARTH IS ON ONE OF THE DVD'S AND ARGENT IS ON ONE OF THEM AS WELL(I KNOW UK DAVE IS DROOLING BY NOW)...."

drooling is an understatement!!!

PS Interesting situation in May. One half of Argent (Rod Argent and Jim Rodford) are touring in the UK, the other two (Russ Ballard and Bob Henrit) are touring in Germany. I'm hoping to catch both bands playing live within 3 or 4 days of each other.

Too much to hope that Rare Earth might be around too?:

I too saw the inframercial for the Time/Life Midnight Special Series on DVD and became very excited. That is until I found out there is only one song by Rare Earth. Don't get me wrong fellas one song is better than none but Rare Earth was a guest on the Midnight Special numerous times. I persoannly viewed each show Rare Earth appreared on and they played many songs. I know there are some other great artists in the series (Argent, Doobies, Steely Dan to name a few) but the main reason I would be purchasing this series is to see Rare Earth perform and I'm not shelling out over one hundred dollars for one song. BTW in the original hour long inframercial I saw back in March of this year they didn't even show a clip of Rare Earth's performance or list them in the credits along with the other artists who would be appearing in the series. Once again it seems Rare Earth fans are getting the short end of the stick. Jocko D

I have recieved 11 Dvd's over the last year. Rare Earth is on one of them. I love the music from the 70's and seeing them played live and on The Midnight Special brings back such GREAT memories, but that is were it ends, just like most good things of TODAY. I decided to stop getting anymore DVD's, because I have enough of them now.

The phone number that is on the Statement sent every time the DVD's come will not work. All you get is a computer MESSAGE TELLING YOU TO CALL 10 15 15 8000 and a charge of $4.95. We'll, when you call that number it is an International number that says it can't help you. Then you are given more numbers that are the same run around. Of course they don't want you to get in touch with them to STOP RECIEVING THESE DVS's. All they want you to do is keep recieving them.

It say's you can return the ones you don't want and get a refund on them, but you will pay for the shipping. That's $3.95 to recieve them and $3.95 to return them. That's half the price of one DVD, right there! I had to send them a letter today and I'm hopeing to get out of this $43.85 bill every two months. I hope they will recieve the letter and canceal my membership. I will let everyone know the outcome.

Hey Michael,

I agree with your appreciation of the music from the 1970's.

Best of luck with your attempt to return the unwanted or not ordered, by yourself, merchandise. I assume the DVDs are being delivered in the same method, i.e. USPS, UPS, FEDEX, or what have you. Perhaps they can be of some assistance, or even your credit card company, I'm assuming it was charged to a credit card you provided to them initially. Bummer how some people have to take advantage.

Best of luck, and enjoy the DVDs you ordered/want.

Peace,

Chicago Tommy

Yes, dont we all love the 70's especially the breath taking performers on the midnight special dvds. Me and my husband ordered one dvd. We are low on money so when we called we informed them that we only wanted one. Granted they told us to call within 30 days and cancel. And thats what we did. Unfortunaly some companies do take advantage of something rare. We have recieved six more dvds. Being charged almost $50.00 a month. We have called, I have looked up their website and guess what there isnt even a number to call you have to email them. I have also done that. Today I saw that another charge from midnight special was on my bank account.. I was furious. I called them and lost my temper. Believe it or not, I am not getting a refund, they denied my calling them, which made me unbelievably angry. Then when i told the sales person that i was speaking to that i wanted to cancel for the seventh time, she argued with me informing me that they were "awesome dvds, and i would be missing out". She even took the curtisy of telling me she would put my account on hold and give me time to re-watch the dvds so i can be sure thats what i want to do. Haha I dont think so. Midnight specials are really cool dvds. But not worth the money and hassle. I do believe that the Guthy-Renker company is deffiantly taking advantage of people. I finally got mine canceled (as far as i know) and i am truely dissatisfied with midnight special. I will NEVER reccomend it to anyone, just because of the hassle that i went through .no

Hey Carolina,

I'm going to assume you are located within the USA or Canada. That being said, I wanted to ask that you follow-up with the Better Business Bureau at:

http://www.bbb.org/

Additionally, I would also ask you to post your comments and experiences at The Ripoff Report's website which is:

http://www.ripoffreport.com/

I am truly sorry to hear about your very unpleasant experience, and hope this does not in any way tarnish your enthusiasm for Rare Earth.

Peace,

Chicago Tommy
