I am about half way through reading a very interesting book which I thought I would let you all know about. It's called Grit, Noise, and Revolution. The Birth of of Detroit Rock 'n' Roll. By David A Carson. published by The University of Michigan Press. 2005 376pp
There are 2 pages on R.E. which include quotes from Pete, a picture of The Sunliners, and lots of references to R.E. related people, labels etc.
This book is very in depth, and makes a refreshing change from all the articles I have read on bands from Detroit/Michigan over the years who allways seem to cover the usual suspects MC5, Stooges etc and leave out R.E.
