Music from Rare Earth to the Beatles, Lynyrd Skynyrd to Arthur Lee/Love, The Jefferson Airplane to Wishbone Ash and so many more has brought me so much joy over the decades. What disappoints me is why, why, why there is turmoil in every band that either causes break ups or bands performing without the key members who the fans want to see. Four of the Five original Rare Earthers are still alive today. Rare Earth without Pete Rivera banging the drums and singing the songs is simply not Rare Earth. Firefall, a band similar in sound to Rare Earth, has three original guys in their current lineup. Yet the band's two original front people, Rick Roberts and Larry Burnett, are estranged from Firefall and performing as a duo. Another band similar to Rare Earth, except without the saxophone, is Grand Funk Railroad. Why does it continue that the current Funk linup only has drummer/vocalist Don Brewer and bassist Mel Schacher from the original lineup and guitarist extraordinaire Mark Farner is doing a tour of mostly Grand Funk tunes on his own. This is madness. Why can't all you guys just make peace, reunite and provide what the fans, fans that made you all so rich, what and who we all really want to see.
Because some members although preaching god and forgiveness find it too impossible to actually practice what they preach. You only have to look back at old postings to find this is the case. Control freaks!
