Hi, I am a long-time fan of Rare Earth. My first RE 1971 album was Get Ready, and it was followed by One World and In Concert. Wanted more and found Two worlds which I know is Dreams/Answers marketed in Europe. It is a different album but still interesting. I actually play it more often now than the other albums.
I have some things I need your help to sort out:
- the credits for playing bass is John Parrish (aka John Persh). But there is a P. Parrish credited to some of the tunes. Is this our John Persh, or the Paul Parrish the singer/songwriter? - some tunes are credited G. Harvey. How is he related to RE? - have any other other recorded these tunes (Land of Nods, Red Apple, Yesterday of Third Avenue etc.
I know that there was a Paul Parrish who wrote some lyrics for Dreams/Answers. I think someone related to him posted on here at one time. Whether or not he's the guy you're referring to, I couldn't say. To make things more confusing, some of those songs had John Parrish on vocals.
"Land of Nod" was released as a 45 by The Sunliners (Pre Rare Earth).
