I was wondering how the "One World" album got its title.
"Motown Unreleased 1968" includes a track by Bobby Taylor & the Vancouvers, called "One World", which was written by Tom Baird. As Rare Earth's "One World" album includes a Tom Baird composition, "The Road", is it possible that Rare Earth recorded a new version of "One World" leading to the album being named after that track, but that it was then dropped from the album without its title being changed?
Well Richard, I have listened again to the "One World" instrumental, and it does appear to be a different tune than the Vancouvers', although knowing Rare Earth's talent for musical improvisation, I can't say that with 100% certainty.
However this makes it even stranger that a Rare Earth album should bear the title of a previously unreleased track, but then not include that track in its contents.
