Motown roster and catalogue

I was just reading this article after hearing rumours and denials of Motown closing.

If it is true that most Universal Motown staff are leaving, I'm just wondering how this might affect the possibility of seeing those Live in Chicago tapes in the future. Less likely, possibly more likely, or still very unlikely? I wonder if Henry Weinberger (or whatever his name is) is still with the company?

It's about time we had a new subject to discuss!! ;)

I feel your fears Dave. I'm sure Harry W. is a nice guy. The few emails I got from him 3 years ago gave me that impression. Like you, I wish we could get a release of Live in Chicago, plus the few songs that were excluded from the finished album (Hum Along & Dance, Tobacco Road). As far as I know, Harry is still with the company

You probably have more chance of more Rare Earth albums without him around.  I doubt we will be that lucky and he will still have the iron fist.disbelief
