Not to be confused with "The Brothers Karamazov"...though *these* two Hitsville Alumni are just as deep and insightful....not to mention erudite and sophisticated, yes?
Ennyhoo...this is to introduce ya to their channel on YouTube...which ya may already know about..
Below are some vignettes in which they wax eloquent about remembrances, anecdotes, and such about the Hitsville Empire luminaries that are thier friends..
Why thank you, Termite. We're just doing what we've done all our lives. I think it's time for us to do another video. We have been pretty well wrapped up in the studio working on Abraham Wilson's second CD, but we'll get back at it soon enough. We have some pretty big news to talk about which we are not yet at liberty to discuss. Stay tuned.
Big news Ralph.....I wonder what it might be. Could it be that Universal have given the green light to release all the never before heard Rare Earth tracks that are lying in thosse famous Motown vaults, and they plan to issue them on a 4 cd set that will be available for Christmas, and the set will contain a 30 page booklet full of never before published photos of the band, and new essays from band members, and you and Russ got the job of working on the project.

Of course, you're not at liberty,m8..we all understand...after all....Woody Allen *never, **EVER** * allows any of *his* cinematic masterpieces to be pre-screened for critics before they hit cinema.
We're all gonna watch yer YouTube space for further details..

Relativley warm, Richard. Some one has posted the information on the Soulful Detroit forum so I suppose I'm at liberty to let you guys in on it. Universal contacted me a while back to see if Russ would be interested in mixing several never before released Jackson 5 and Michael Jackson tracks. We are in the process of doing that at present time. Abraham Wilson and I are doing the Quality Control gig on this one.
Perhaps if this works out well, there may be a Rare Earth project in the future, but I can't really say at this point. I would dig that though.

That's awesome Ralph! Who better to do that than 2 guys who were THERE back in the day and who know their craft! I'm not sure if you'll giving your input at the mastering stage but I have to say this: so many cd's mastered today are mastered in a loud and compressed manner. The dynamics of a great mix can be ruined by such mastering. Quiet parts become loud and loud parts are even louder. That kills the dynamics. I know that things are compressed when mixing. That's normal. But digital compression, yikes! In short, I hope your mixes are mastered properly. I can hardly wait to hear them.
If you and Russ were able to do some Rare Earth stuff...I'd suggest going back to the multitrack tapes of the late 1973/early 1974 Arie Crown Theatre (Chicago) show...it's a pipe dream but if we could have that FULL show...that'd be amazing!
Hey Big Brother Born To Wander Big John Is My Name We're Gonna Have A Good Time Ma Hum Along And Dance (I Know) I'm Losing You Tobacco Road Get Ready I Just Want To Celebrate1
Mike, I can assure you the mixes will be good. Hopefully we will also have control over the final mastering. Yeah, it's rather prohetic that things should fall this way. As Russ said, " I brought them in, and I'll bring them out".

I hope you get the final say over mastering.
Oh crap! I meant "Ralph". That's what happens when I post at work.
Chained and Funky Blacky Man were also Added To the 74 Chicago Show
Are you sure that was from the very same Chicago show? The album was planned for a March 74 release so that points to a late 73/early 74 recording date for the album. I thought Chained came along in mid 74. Unless the band were playing it before they tracked it in the studio. Or maybe the Chicago gig you saw was at a later date.
These videos that Ralph and Russ have done are really good. Its fun listening to they stories they tell from the guys that were there. I cant reccomend these enough.

This, after the shocking news of Michael Jackson's passing...is to be *expected*...
I *am* waiting for what The Hitsville Empire's vaults *do* hafta offer in re: J5 material...along with Saundra ("Blainky") Williams, Michel Rubini & Don Dunn, Junior Walker, Tom Baird & Matrix, and of course Rare Earth, amongst others....
