Anyone know who wrote these tracks? All appeared on the Anthology set, which has no liner notes what-so-ever.
1) I Just Cried - The Sunliners (Demo) 2) King Of A Rainy Country (1st Album) 3) Child Of Fortune / One World (GENERATON SNDTRK) 4) Fun House (Wilson Sessions Outtake) 5) What You Gonna Do If I Give It You (BACK TO EARTH Outtake) 6) B Want R Ya (BACK TO EARTH Outtake)
According to the booklet in my Best of Rare Earth Anthology CD:
1) I Just Cried - The Sunliners (Demo) (Unknown) 2) King Of A Rainy Country (Paul Parrish) More likely John Parrish aka John Persh??? 3) Child Of Fortune (Wes Henderson/Ron Farrell) / One World (Tom Baird) 4) Fun House (Melvin Ragin/Frank Wilson/Terri McFaddin) 5) What You Gonna Do If I Give It You (Unknown) 6) B What R Ya (Doug Duffey)
OK. I was just going by what info I had in my collection. Dreams and Answers (Vinyl LP) claims it to be written by Parrish but the Anthology CD goes one further and says Paul Parrish.
John Persh (Parrish) was quite active as far as songwriting, and contributed some fine songs along the way, notably Any Man Can Be A Fool on One World.
"Whatcha Gonna Do (If I Give It To You)" was composed by Mel Larson, Jerry Marcellino, Don Fenceton, & Roderick Rancifer; Publshers were Jobete (ASCAP) & Stone Diamond (BMI). Produced by Mel Larson & Jerry Marcellino under the doofus moniker "Lar-Mar"
The tune was also commercially released in 1976 by the group Fantacy Hill..on their eponymous LP, A -side, Track 2, on Motown (Prodigal label). Producer was Ray Ruff (for Oak Productions)
