This is already knowledge to Jocko. But for any of you who may not know or forgot...

...I was playing "What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits" by The Doobie Brothers. When the track "Road Angel" came on, I was stunned by the percussion breaks in the middle of the song. I had to check out the album credits.  I completely forgot that Eddie added congas, timbales to the song. The song is one of those hard driving early Doobies tunes that makes you want to crank the volume.

It's clearly Eddie handling all of the extra percussion on this one. I thought that maybe drummer John Hartmanm may have handled some extra stuff, as he did so very well in the early days. And Bobby LaKind was not yet with the band. It's clearly Eddie's playing style. Eddie's percussion and the double drum work of John Hartman and Mike Hossack drive the song in my opinion.

I did my best to isolate the conga and timable breaks form the song and will post on youtube either today or tomorrow. Little things like this take my mind off of the rough time I'm having in dealing with my step-father's passing.

I was just listening to Vices and The Captin and Me in my car the past week.  Eddie was great on Vices.  Did he appear live with them at the time?  I seem to remember he did.

It's purely down to cost, the company we use to rent the space have really whacked up their prices, as John and myself fund the site ourselves, its just become to expensive.
If we can find a way of running the site for free, or much cheaper than it is at the moment then it will continue. We certainly don't want to wind the it  up.
The Forum will remain because it's free.
