Yes John Mitchell is still with Arena and The Seventh Degree Of Separation is their new album.   I saw him with It Bites recently too, they were top notch and shared the bill with Mostly Autumn.

I saw JV at The Stables in Wavendon saturday night and purchased Mean Old Scene there along with the 1st JV Band album, he signed both.  Great gig!

Oh and some Rare Earth live from 1975 featuring Jerry La Croix, Gil, Ray, Eddie, Reggie, Gab Katona & Chet Mcracken on drums.  Just three tunes, Keeping Me Out Of The`Storm, Boogie With Me Children and a fantastic version of Losing You with mind blowing guitar grooves from Ray.  It is from the Don Kirsner Rock TV concert in 1975.

I just learned something new about Rare Earth. I didn't know Chet McCracken was with them. I wonder how many other little gaps i've got missing in the RE family tree?

Great to hear that the JV gig went well at The Stables. Presumably the line up fetured henrit and Mark Griffiths? I love that first JV Band album from the early 70s.

I saw It Bites and Mostly Autumn at Nottingham. John Beck wore bright red lipstick for some strange reason...and it was all smudged. I have to say that I was really taken with Olivia from Mostly Autumn. She sings as good as she looks!! I ended up buying the double live CD. Two great bands in one show!!

The lineup for the JV concert was with Steve Rodford on drums and Mark G on bass.  Good to see Rod Argent, Jim Rodford and Chris White in the audience.

Very cool John. I didn't know that performance had actually leaked out.

Very busy here with work, school, some home remodeling, family and taking care of mom (sick w/cancer)...but recently for me it's been:

1. Poco: The Forgotten Trail (1969-74) *wonderful compilation of their period on Epic Records.

2. Poco: Live (live album recorded in 1974...not released until 1976)

3. Randy Newman: Sail Away

4. Genesis: Wind & Wuthering

5. Head Over Heels...the album Mike Urso played on as part of a trio.

6. And a smattering of music from that band out of Detroit that we all love smile

Rare Earth Live in Chicago? Now how could you possibly be listening to that? :)))) You got a secret key to that vault?

You'll think you've won the lottery once those begging letters start arriving.
