Last night I recorded NBC's "My Name Is Earl" and later, while replaying it, I saw the movie trailer for "Role Models." Attached is a link similar to the one I viewed. When you get get to about the 50.5 second point of the youtube video, make sure your volume is turned up and have a good listen. Hope it makes the official soundtrack.
Pete's hi-hat and kick drum and Eddie's congas....nothing like it!
Not to take anything away from any of the drummers in R.E. history...but the combo of Pete And Eddie...hard to beat. The only other one imo that was as powerful and could groove was the 69-71 Santana lineup that included: Mike Shrieve (drums), Jose "Chepito" Areas (timbales, congas) and Mike Carabello (congas).
I don't really know how to describe it but there's just something about the music and the name itself. "Rare Earth"...what a cool name.
And the music...it just makes me feel good. Whether it's a rocking song like Celebrate, a funky song like Big John Is My Name, a jam like Thoughts or a mellow song like Love Shines Down (One of my all-time favorite Rare Earth songs), it just hits the spot.

Agreed, I would also add "Chained."
On a sidenote, I now find myslef actually watching commercials on cable, umm, thanks guys...
Has anyone else seen the TV ad for PREMIUM PLUS crackers? It has bowels of soup on a counter top and single crackers droping into the soup to the back ground music of I JUST WANT TO CELEBRATE.
