R.I.P. Richard Wright (Pink Floyd)

I read the following this afternoon:

LONDON -- Richard Wright, a founding member of the rock group Pink Floyd, died Monday. He was 65.

Pink Floyd's spokesman Doug Wright, who is not a relative, said Wright died after a battle with cancer at his home in Britain. He says the band member's family did not want to give more details about his death.

Very strange to read this because I listened to the albums "Meddle" and "Wish You Were Here" this morning.

Richard was the musical glue of Pink Floyd.

I love how he & David doubled and tripled their voices at times.

If you come across a copy, snag up Richard's first solo album "Wet Dream". I know, nice title biggrin. Seriously though, this is a fantastic solo album. And you can hear a LOT of the Floyd sound on this album. In particular, those spacey and ethereal sounding keyboards. The cd is out of print and is now going for $80+ but snag the vinyl. If you're a Floyd fan, you won't be disappointed.
