I finally found a copy the ANTHOLOGY CD. The first thing I notice is that there are no liner notes (other than the track titles on the back. I can figure out who wrote/produced/played what, when, etc for the previously issued tracks, but whats the scoop on the outtakes?
Did the original ANTHOLOGY release feature liner notes? (if so, maybe someone could post a copy here!). Otherwise - What do folks know about the unreleased tracks?
I Just Cried The Sunliners (Demo?, recorded 1968?) (author?) (producer?) (musicians?) (etc)
Child of Fortune/One World (Unreleased GENERATON SNDTRK, July 1969?) (etc)
Fun House (MA Outtake, 1974?) (etc)
B What R Ya (BACK TO EARTH Outtake, 1975?) (etc)
What You Gonna Do If I Give It To You (BACK TO EARTH Outtake, 1975?) (etc)

Those are all of the unreleased tracks.
The original anthology set camee in a slipcase and had a booklet with commentary by Pete & Gil.
I Just Cried The Sunliners *Recorded @ Golden World Studios...I forget the year now.1966 I think. By 1968 Rod & Ken were in the band.
Child of Fortune/One World (Unreleased GENERATON SNDTRK) * This was recorded in late 69. A few of the songs from this soundtrack were remixed for use on Ecology. The mixes are very different. The soundtrack remains unreleased. Well, unless you're one of the lucky FEW who got ahold of a copy that leaked out.
Fun House *Actually, this was cut during the 1974 sessions that Frank Wilson produced. Chained was the only song from those sessions that would be released at thwe time. Fun house is not a Ma outtake.
B What R Ya (BACK TO EARTH Outtake, 1975?) What You Gonna Do If I Give It To You (BACK TO EARTH Outtake, 1975?) *Correct!
Dick, I have two copies of the Anthology CD and both copies contain identical track lists. One set is entitled Anthology and the other set is entitled The Best of Rare Earth
However, only the Anthology version included the full booklet. The Best of copy included only a one page sheet with the same photo that's on the front window from the Anthology CD booklet If both of my copies were the same versions and included the booklets I'd send one to you.
Here's another note. Back in the spring I saw a copy of Anthology on eBay that copy had a discrepancy in track listings compared to the two sets I have in my collection. Yes the Anthology set on eBay is a third known version of Anthology. When I noticed this copy of Anthology on eBay with a different track listing I was going place a post about it but I never did so.
If I recall correctly another member may have posted in regards to this thrid version of Anthology with the alternate track listing so It now seems there's a minimum of three different versions of the Anthology set out there.
I Just took a look on eBay and there's a copy of Anthology with an alternate track listing.
Some of the tracks are in different chronological order and according to the seller his copy contains the unreleased song from the Generation LP entitled "The Feeling".
It seems the seller received his track listing information from the Muse website and not the actual CD set itself so his track listing may not be accurate.
I now seem to recall a thread in regards to this issue a while back so perhaps I was mistaken about three different versions of Anthology.
I couldnt agree more! The music is what I am interested in most.I was very happy to find a used copy via Amazon. I did not realize that there were a couple versions until now. The booklet would have been a nice extra, because I enjoy knowing the details behind the music. Thanks so much for offering one of your booklets, but I dont know that sounds like a lot of work & seems TOO nice a thing to do (!). (Does that make sense? Ha-ha).Honestly, I would be happy as heck just read a scanned copy.Would that be easier?I saw an alternate track listing somewhere too. A message elsewhere in this forum noted that the alternate listing was proposed, but not actually released. The unreleased track listing showed The Feeling (1969 outtake) and My Eyes Only in place of King of a Rainy Country & You Got My Love.
Me thinks there are some errors on the net. If I recall correctly, All other 1995 Anthology sets are identical for the US & UK issues. Same mastering too. It wouyldn't make sense to have alternate tracklists for only the Rare Earth set. But stranger things have happened.
Mike, I think you're right about all Anthology sets containing the same tracks. I believe the seller of the Anthology set on eBay downloaded his track listing off the Muse website which is probably incorrect. Even though my two Anthology sets have quite a few differences the track listings are identical on both sets
Dick, The Anthology set you purchased from Amazon is probably the same as my second copy of Anthology which didn't come with the booklet. Are your CD's entitled Anthology or Best Of Rare Earth?
It's really no problem for me to stop by the printer to see if he can make a copy of the booklet for you. I have two HP photo printers with scanner's but both of them aren't working correctly. I'll let you know how I made out with the printer early next week.

I have the BEST OF version (w/o booklet). Sounds like its identical to your second copy.
Dick, Had to go out of town unexpectedly. Will take care of your booklet when I return home next week. As for my other friends on the forum. Keep on rockin' and don't forget to fill your head with dirt at least once a day.(If Possible) Best wishes, Jocko
Dick, Dropped the booklet off at the printer this afternoon. The printer told me no problem in duplicating the booklet. I told him to make me two copies so I'll also have a booklet for my second version. This way if I ever decide to pass the second set onto someone it will be complete with booklet. The booklets should be ready in a few days.
