Mark, I will be purchasing Rod's mini CD as well. Now that you've brought Rod up I would like to share a story with the rest of the forum. When Rod and Kenny left Rare Earth there was absolutely no publicity about the personal changes..
I don't recall the exact year but sometime in the early 70's I was reading Circus magazine and a single paragraph article caught my eye. The caption above the article read something like "Ex Rare Earth and Ex-Hendrix bandmates team up to form new band and record new LP. If my memory serves me correctly the article included the band members names but the actual name of the new band wasn't included. Perhaps the band members had yet to name the band when the article was written I don't know.
I didn't have much to go on but nonetheless I began searching record stores for Rod's new LP. Over the years I asked many questions but nobody seemed to know anything about the LP. As the years passed I lost some hope but I didn't give up. I continued to ask people in the music industry and fellow fans if they knew anything about the LP.  Finally in the late 1980's through a fellow Rare Earth fan I found out the Road LP did in fact exist. I eventually located a sealed copy so searching for all those years finally paid off.  By the way it will be my copy of Road you guys hear if Mike's Project isn't canceled.
I didn't mean to take anything away from the new Rare Earth LP "A Brand New World" because after all it's the new release this thread is all about. I know many of us are looking forward to adding "A Brand New World" to our collections and I for one can't wait to hear it in it's entirety. It seems to me like it's a good period in time to be a Rare Earth fan with both new Rare Earth and Rare Earth related music to listen to. Good Point.. We, as a band, certainly appreciate all the kind words about the new record, the new ban and all the optimism for the future but this site is about ALL Rare Earth related music and matters.. I too am a big fan of the early Records and I'm very interested in what the other Rare Earth band members are up to..

I look forward to hearing anything these cats have to offer. I learned a lot from these guys, and I haven't even met them.. ;-}

Oh, By the way, I think i pushed the wrong button. The text is a strange color.. and rather large. too..

oops..

Ivan...............

Don't worry about it Ivan. At least you press the right buttons when it comes to making music! smile

That has to be the corniest post of the day. I'm not even going to put my name to it smile

Hi Mark, Jocko, Dave & all,

     Just want to let everyone know my web site is now fully functional, www.rodrichards.com. The CD is doing very well here locally. Every song on it has been played on various radio stations, I don't recall that ever happening with any other album I've ever recorded, that makes me very proud of the work done. I'm currently working with another band here to put together a very large Music Festival early next year that will become an annual event. Initially of course, it won't be as big as some of the famous rock festivals of the past but who knows? Check this band out (The Vox), they're great. If you can imagine what a modern version of "The Doors" would sound like today with all new original material, this is it.
      If any of you hear my new CD, your feedback will be welcomed.

      Rod
