I belong to another site which deals with artists and songs, and the "what, where, when, why, and how".  Also the charting positions, and lyrics ect.  I wont mention the site here,  as I dont believe in advertizing other sites in someone else's.  But I will say that Rare Earth is not in the artist list, and I would like to make you a part of it.  Unless for some reason you have chosin not to be part of that site?.. I wont make any attempt to start a Rare Earth topic without permission from the band.  I have e-mailed the web master here, and he should have my address on file.  Perhaps band members may want to e-mail the webmaster,  and maybe he can hook us up.  That way I will give you the site address, and you can check it out yourselves and let me know what you think.  I would be happy to do the work as long as I have your blessings.

Rod and Peter thanks for the replies. No word from Gil yet.  I have sent a simular e-mail on the official web site concerning this.  I hope it gets forwarded to at least one of you.
To answer Dan's question.  This certainly could be (and probably has been) discussed here.  But the way I have to format the other site may require some questions that are not of interest here.  I'm sure alot will be of interest too.  But I dont want to clog this site with a Q & A session.  If and when all gets done,  I will copy the info into this site, or post the links (if that would be ok with the boss).  But I will make the info available to members of this site somehow.

Since there has been no response to the request put forward here, this project appears to have come to a dead end. I will leave the e-mail address active until April 15 th, in hopes of a reply. After that date, the address will be removed.

I would really like to get more people into Rare Earth, but to do so on the other site, I need facts ' right from the horses mouth' so to speak. They are sticklers for details and sources of info.

What it really comes down to is basically an interview or explaination in your own words as to how each song was conceived, along with the usual - where, when, why,  ect..   Also any interesting tid-bits (ie:crazy stuff that happened during recording,  writing, live performances..)  Just "the" what really went on kind of stuff. 
I am nothing more than a member of the other site.   I am (and have always been) a Rare Earth fan.  That site lists many many artists and the more well known hits by them,  but there is no mention of Rare Earth.  I would like to make the addition of the band and the music in the most comprehensive way.
There are currently 22600+ regestered members on that site.

As I said above (somewhere) I will find a way to get that info to the folks here.

If ya get a minute,  shoot me an email at that address and I'll answer all questions.

I don't understand this request at all.

If you want information on "how each song was conceived, along with the usual - where, when, why,  etc..   Also any interesting tid-bits (ie:crazy stuff that happened during recording,  writing, live performances..)  Just "the" what really went on kind of stuff" you can find it on this forum and thanks to Ray, Peter, Gil, Ralph and others, it is "straight from the horse's mouth". Also, you should buy the books by Peter Rivera and Ralph Terrana. Information galore, but then again, these only represent their stories.

Peter and Rod gave you their approval to put Rare Earth. At that point you were going to "do the work". It now seems that you're now expecting the guys in the band to put time into this. I'm not surprised you're getting a cool response.

Jim I might be totally mis-judging you, and if so I apologise sincerely. You have to admit though, you are being a little bit elusive.

It sounds to me like you're trying to get the lowdown on each song from each album. If you want to know. Just ask it here and I'm sure that the guys would answer if they can. smile Sorry guys, not trying to speak FOR you.

Well guys,  thanks anyway.  Its seems there is a new admin over on that other site,  and in a weeks time things have gotten pretty out of hand.  About a dozen of the senior members have left (myself included).  The reason I made this request was for legal matters.  I dont need some agent, manager, lawer, or AR clowns comming out of the woodwork claiming copyright issues or whatever. I've been down that road once,  and I sure dont want to do it again.  But none of that matters now that they have messed that site up.  I will continue to send people who have an interest in RE to this site.
