I agree with John, come on guys you need a change of set list. What happened to all these new songs you promised, this new CD?
Guys, you can only listen to Tobacco Road so many times. What about long lost classics from your past like What Id Say, Couldnot Believe What Happened Last Night even The Feeling from Different World.
This line up appears to be static, if I come home to the same meal every night then I got to get a new COOK. You are all good players, give us some new energy.
I love you guys but give us a break.
I hope to catch Pete's shows and hear something different, I will reserve thoughts on that one. If only the real Rare Earth could stand up and be counted.
I can sympathize with you guys. I saw RE last night at the Elmwood Park, IL fest. I, too, am getting tired of the same songs. I talked to the guys and they say the album is half finished. Ivan is doing the editing. I kind of got a mixed response because even though the album is halfway done the say it should be out by the end of the summer. Who knows...
I still enjoyed the show, but there were technical difficulties that ate into the show time, so the boys had to cut out Big John and open with Big Brother. Very disappointing as I love the excitement and build up of Big John. Also, Ivan's guitar was much too loud in the mix, drowing out JR's vocals and Gil's sax.
Still, I must say this. Whenever I see Gil's RE, they always bring it. They seem to try to add new twists to the long solo's and improvistaions, but yes, I would love if they shook up the playlist a bit. Can you imagine them opening with Gil's Find Someone to Love or Magic Key. How great would that be!!!!
