MARK, the definion of a CANADIAN is a person waiting for a bus in -40 weather wishing they were in FLORDIA but never goes.I guess I like it here I just like to complain.Besides I get to listen to good tunes and shoot the **** with cool people from around the world. It's 6:50 PM time for a MOOSEHEAD ALE and THE JAMES GANG LIVE AT CARNEGIE HALL. The weather network is calling for snow,OH NO!
MOOSEHEAD AND THE GANG...I AM JEALOUS!! OH MY GOSH...THEY ARE CALLING FOR 8 INCHES OF SNOW HERE!!!
I play in two bands. I played with the other one the night before. The other one plays a lot of Soul and Motown, one of which is Get Ready. I hate the version we do. It used to be ok but its drifted into a very poor version. I keep mentioning that the definitive version is by Rare Earth but they just look at me blank as if to say Rare who?
Anyway, a few weeks ago I took my iPod to a gig, plugged it into the PA and MADE them listen. I didn't say who it was by. The drummer's ears shot up and he said "who's this version by? This is amazing". It was the original LP version featuring Rod and Kenny. Our drummer was knocked out by Peter's drumming and when I said he was also the lead singer he didn't believe me. It causes me great pain participating in the murder of Get Ready the way we play it and I just wish the drummer (who also sings it) would keep playing one night so I could continue into JP's bass solo off In Concert

I agee. Gimme Back My Bullets is a great song. A band called Skinny Molly, formed by Mike Estes (briefly a guitarist with Skynyrd) come to the UK every year. I've seen them 3 times and they always play that song.

Just off to play a gig with my band. We cover 3 Skynyrd songs, Sweet Home Alabama, Gimme Three Steps and Down South Jukin'. Man, the effect that opening guitar of Sweet Home Alabama has on the audience is amazing. Without fail it just seems to uplift the crowd. Great for getting us out of a hole.

For me, it's the time of the year I do a lot of walking after I get home from work post 11:00 pm. I love winter and the cold temps anyhow. Call me crazy I suppose. The fresh air at night helps me to sleep better and it clears the mind. But I always take music with me to listen to. As of late, I've been listening to:
1. The Police: Synchronicity (and the outtakes that were used as b-sides) 2. Stevie Wonder: Songs In The Key Of Life 3. The Beatles: Revolver (mono mix) 4. The Very Best Of The Rascals 5. The Byrds: Younger Than Yesterday 6. Simon & Garfunkel: Bookends (mono mix) 7. Billy Joel: Nassau Coliseum; Long Island; December 29, 1982 (taken directly from the laserdisc). 8. The Temptations *Mike's compilation containing all of the hits from 1964-72...the original mixes! I don't like the stereo remixes of those 60's singles. The "ooomph" of those glorious mono singles like Ain't Too Proud To Beg is lost in the stereo remix, especiaily the bass! 9. Jimi Hendrix: Monterey Pop 1967 10. Alice Cooper: Killer 11. Bob Seger: Night Moves
